Recent changes in the Work Comp Reform Laws in Cal. including: Senate Bill 899 (Occupational Therapy-24 visit cap), Senate Bill 228 (Physical Therapy- 24 visit cap), and the use of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) Guidelines for physicians and payer utilization management have had a significant impact on the rehab industry. According to both the AOTA and CPTA, some of the results of these reform laws include: fewer rehab treatments, longer waiting times for claim approval and more denied claims. Can I ask the forum what their experience has been in California and other states experiencing Work Comp reform and what they are doing about it.

Nicole
