I have a work comp patient s/p RC repair referred by her orthopod. She told me yesterday that she attempted suicide by taking pills a few days ago, and was wanting to "have it all go away". She had no family physician, so I finally got her to go see someone as soon as she left the clinic.

Question: I wrote a synopsis of the incident and put a copy in the chart. How much info should the comp carrier get? Should I include this info in the next progress note or should I report it directly now?
