I'm a licensed PT in Texas and last year I filed a complaint regarding a chiro facility who deceived PT's and the public by informing them that all their 3 facilities are registered to the PT Board. The truth is, only one facility is registered to the Board and the 2 other facilities located in 2 different towns are not registered. In Texas, a facility needs to be registered to the PT Board in order for a PT to practice in that facility. Failure to do that means disciplinary action to the PTinvolved. I filed a formal complaint to the Board for deceiving the public the fact that they're posting only a photocopy of their facility registration ( from the only registered facility ) in the walls of their 2 unregistered facilities and for lying to me that their facility is registered. An investigation was then initiated by the Board. I also quit the facility at that time I discovered that their facilities are not registered and as per Board advise. I submitted all the informations and evidence I have against the chiro facility to the Board as requested and I was hopeful that the case will be acted upon strongly. Two months after I quit, I checked the internet site for facility registration and was dumbfounded when I found out that the 2 unregistered facilities were now registered and the dates of registration was the time i quit my job there. I remember that the owners were trying to make me sign a registration form to be the supervising therapist which i declined at that time the fact that I'm aIready quitting. I called the Board and inquired about it however, they themselves seemed like they're in limbo about it. I told the Board that I wanted to know how they ( the chiros ) were able to get a registration if there is a pending complaint and investigation about their facilities. I suspected that the chiros either forged my signature and then have it notarized by the wife who does the notary. I know for certain that the chiros were'nt able to hire another PT basing from the information provided to me by my tech who still worked with them at that time. I made a few phone calls to the Board but I wasn't able to get the information and action I needed. After that I havent heard from the Board anymore nor they ever communicated with me again. I was very much discourage about what happened and I'm not feeling any security now with my profession the fact that all I did was to preserve the ethics and integrity of my profession and the Board seemed not to care. I don't know where I was wrong or maybe the Board made some mistakes too by accepting the chiros registration without researching it first. If there are any lapses in the department communications then at least I need to be informed about it. What if my signature is forged, then had they become an accessory for it by not disclosing to me that information? Its scary.
