I am in the early stages of breaking away from my director position at a hospital, and starting my own private practice. The location will be in a fairly small town but will serve surrounding communities as well. Many business names in town start with the name of the town (not a bad idea, because it starts with an A)including the clinic and a chiropractic office. Should I follow suit, or would it be better to come up with something more unique? I don't want to use my last name Gross Physical Therapy!! for obvious reasons :D Any ideas?

Why not "Physical Therapy of Atlanta", or "Physical Therapy Associates"?

Why not call it "Holly Physical Therapy" after your first name? Heck, call it anything you want.
I called my practice "Sherwood Physiotherapy", not because Sherwood is the name of my town, or my own name (it isn't), or anything to do with English storytelling... I called it Sherwood, because before I opened a practice I spent several months thinking, "..sure would like to have my own practice."

Imagine yourself answering the phone over and over again....make the name easy to say. People have a tough time with overly creative names....like our clinic for example...the name stinks...people never remember it! I shorten it to the initials "PRC" (kinda like "KFC") which if your pronounce it is "prick". I feel like it is too late to change however...

So...sometimes simple is better. "Central Physical Therapy", "H.G Physical Therapy", "We Rock PT", etc.

Thanks for the great suggestions. Diane, that was pretty clever, and funny too.
