Here's an excerpt from the PT bulletin.

Direct Access Gains Ground in Louisiana, New York [Top]

Louisiana and New York moved closer this week to becoming the 38th and 39th states to enact legislation providing direct access to physical therapists.

Compromise legislation (HB982) cleared the Louisiana State Senate Health and Welfare Committee Wednesday, a day after the 105-member state House passed the measure unanimously. The full Senate is expected to take up the legislation in the next 2 weeks.

In New York, the state Senate Higher Education Committee is scheduled to hear testimony next week on a direct access bill (AB4582) after the State Assembly endorsed the measure Monday on a 139-to-8 vote.

Its only a matter of time now. GO NY and Louisiana!!!

When last I had written my state senator, I didn't get the impression he had come to a decision. Time to begin the barrage!! For those of you in my area....his name is Martin Connor. Please let him know about your opinions on the matter. Also.....you really will have to convince Joe Bruno before it goes anywhere.

My assemblywoman was a sponsor of the bill on the other side.
