Do you need permission to use all Outcome Measures used in the the clinic? I was wondering this because some designs are so simple that paperwork isn't even needed ie. TUG, Timed Stands Test. I know that some definelty require permission such as the OPTIMAL, SF-36, Spinal Functonal Sort. What are people doing to keep themselves from infringing on copywrite? Thanks Dan

No, you do not need permission to use all outcome tools. Generally speaking, if there is a copywrite issue, it is very clear that you have to purchase the outcome tool. For the DASH or quick DASH, you do need to register with them. To my knowledge the main ones you'd use in PT are free for use. The SF-36 might be something you need to pay for? I don't know. I don't use that one. I just use the PF-10 portion of it. I've never paid to use the PF-10, but I also don't believe it is a licensed product that one has to purchase.
