Hello everyone, I hope all is well and everyone got home safely yesterday. What can I say? This was one blackout for the ages. I kind of remember the last one in '77 when I was very small but even then, I think it lasted only a few hours. Lots of people scrambling to get home by foot, bus or cab. No trains and people stuck in elevators in the city. This forces us to remember to be prepared in situations like this. We had lights and candles to use but many did not, at least in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. But I will stock up again at Home Depot to make sure that all is well prepared for if this ever happens again. What was your take on this? Not going to work today. Trains are out and being recalibrated. Tell us how your day went yesterday? Take care everyone. Shopping for new frozen food is the next order of business.

I don't know if I trust the frozen food these days. 12 hours is enough to thaw in some cases.
Yesturday was one of the rare days I had my car in Manhattan. Took me 3 1/2 hours to get home to Brooklyn!! What more can I say. Everything seems to be going well today. Wasn't going into work in any case.
Good luck to all of you who also lost power.
Best, mcap
