Hello all. I am instructing a student starting tomorrow and have procrastinated on this... does anyone know of an online source which outlines the "student PT rules" regarding level of supervision and all... I am afraid the info I have from when I was in school may be out of date.
Thanks, Alicia

Alicia, You need to read the NY practice act and see where it designates who a SPT can treat and what they can bill for under your license. Also, you will want to check and see which of your providers allows SPTs to treat their pts. As far as level of supervision, it depends on what year they are in school; their learning style; how comfortable you are with them; etc.
FYI, you may want to sign up for the APTA credentialing course for CIs. It's 2 days but could really be broken down into one. Good luck:)

Check into our state practice act at http://www.nypta.org and if it isn't clear enough, you can contact someone there.
