Any x-rays to go along with the photo? I'm sure there are dislocations, fractures and a lot of swelling there.

Sorry but no, this was a communuted phalanx fracture (open derrrrr) that was simply "in a bad way".  She went to surgery of course, I did a digital block and irrigated and started antibiotics. 
Check out the fake nails!

It is seventy nine years ago this week that Alaxander Fleming discovered the Mould which became the antibiotic.  At almost the identical time John Logie Baird demonstrated the first colour television transmission. Two discoveries which changed the world.
