I recall some time ago, I read a study that looked at variables that tend to predict poor outcome with conservative treatment of shoulder impingement.
Is anyone aware of a study that looks at that?

One study was Morrison et al: 79-A:732-737. Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, 1997. Basically showed that success is based on Acromion Type and length of symptoms with patients having a Type I Acromion and symptoms for less than 4 weeks having the best success. I don't have the full text or abstact, but maybe someone else can find it.

I don't think that was it although I do recall acromion type and duration of symptoms was in there. If I recall correctly( and I'm getting older...much older so...). But I recall presence of painful arc without a +ve Hawkins kennedy was also predictive in some way.
I think it was all common sense stuff but the statistics had some utility for me.

I doubt the above article is what you read, but I have it and the article you might have read might be in the reference list (yeah, I know, a backwards way of remembering an article, but sometimes it jogs the memory).
