Just wondering if anyone in here doing part time job. Because my sister is a nurse and shes making a lot of money because of the part time job.Just wanted to know if PT can do the same thing as nurse.
Ok this is what my sister do..she's working for mon-wed.--12 hours everyday.. so every 2 weeks shes making making 72 hours thats not bad. and she can still work as part time from the other facility from thurs and fri. or from thurs.-sat.

Because I was thinking nursing is only 4 years and PT is 5-7 years including masteral. Is Nursing is much better or PT?!

I've worked part-time for over 10 years. PT part-time is different than nursing part-time. Patients that you evaluate generally need to be seen 1 time a week, 2 times a week, 3 times a week or sometimes every other week. For me and the continuity of care that I believe is important, I work M, Tu, Th. I don't believe that the role of the PT is to just evaluate and then delegate patients. Since I do not believe that, then I have chosen to have a work schedule that is reasonable for patient care.

I don't enjoy working with people that are ill... I don't like needles... I don't enjoy the smell of urine or feces... I will gag or puke with a patient if a patient were to have an accident or barf in front of me.. and I can mentally make myself feel just as ill as a patient if they have something contagious - so nursing is definitely not anything I can stomach. LOL

you can always work through a staffing company. It is not AS stable as full time, then again some of our PTs have been at the same facilities ongoing for 3 years, and others go to a new place almost every 4th week or so. But if you're only concerned with money, which it sounds like you are, then it is the way to go. You will earn on average 40% more per hour, so do the math.

"Federal legislation imposing limits on reimbursement for therapy services may adversely affect the short-term job outlook for physical therapist"
Cause i was reading a n information about the job outlook on the physical therapist.

they are referring to the part B therapy cap most likely which as of now has been lifted and the acception process is in place, so i would say this is not the case

Ben, I'm not so sure it is lifted. There is always the option for interpretation and if documentation doesn't support the need for physical therapy, well, that is the loop to not pay for services or pay any more than $1780. If a KX modifier is forgotten, the provider is also screwed.

lifted is not the term as much as their is allowance for exceptions, which the threat was therethat this wasn't going to be
