Howdy all, I'm a 4th year bio undergrad going for medicine, and I've been employed in the ortho research dept of the IWK hospital here in Halifax, NS. We're doing a study using some technology that allows us to examine an individual's gate through 3D displacement data that is converted into relative powers. We have determined that this technology may be able to be used as a diagnostic tool, but I would like to be able to include a measure of gait velocity relative to step frequency. Our technology is still under development, and is thusfar incabable of measuring gait velocity, so my question is, can anybody tell me where I might find a listing of normative gait velocities for males&females from ages 1-16?

Joe,
I personally do not know of any listing. A good place to look would be in Jacquelin Perry's Gait Analysis text book. This text may shed some insight into your question.
