I have a stroke patient that requires a good amount of assist to transfer from W/C to table.  She currently doesn't have the ability to pivot her feet during the transfer so she is dealing with a good amount of twisting and strain to both ankles.  Does anybody have a technique (other than a 2 man transfer) or device that would help reduce this stress?

Thanks

Dan

Dan,
I often question the value of a transfer like this, is it at all helpful for the patient, or is it just harmful to the PT?  In the latter case you need help, either from another person or a device.  There is a pivot disc, that she could stand on and it would do the pivoting.  Help your patients, but save yourself man, so you can help your patients tomorrow too.

I here ya Shill.  I don't want to be the guy in the W/C next.  Its really all about helping reduce stress on the ankles.  This product looks great.  Thanks
