I have decided to open Outpatient clinic and will be enrolling for Medicare.

I have looked up on the APTA website and gathered information regarding the forms that need to be filled for Medicare enrolment.

How long will the Medicare Carrier take to complete enrolment process and issue a provider number?
Also would like to know if Medicare/carrier does any site survey before it issues the provider number?

Plan on 60 days minimum. It will depend on your local fiscal intermediary.

Is there any survey from local Medicare Contractor? As far as I know there are no survey for PT in private pratice but for Rehab , CORF, Home care and Nursing home there are various surveys.

What are various compliance and policy issues related with PT clinics. I can think of OSHA and HIPPA. Are there any consultants for compliance?
