I'm thinking of becoming an independent contractor in IL. Is there anyone who can give me tips on how to get started. I would also appreciate if you can refer me to consulting firm.
You can email me at ronald456@yahoo.com
Thanks!

IC for what? Be specific. You can be IC in home care and then select either geriatric or peds. You can be IC for ergonomics and also do FCEs. Remember if somebody asks you to perform a set amount of hours you are NOT an independent contractor. Therefore think of areas where you only get referrals. Some PTs set up a adult rehab at patient's home business and either charge cash only or take insurances. This is an outpatient benefit. Good Luck!

You might think about www.inhomerehab.com and their model.

You can check them out and tell them I sent you.

Peter Kovacek is a good guy and their business model seems reasonable.

Good luck.

I talked to Mr. Kovacek already but it's kinda expensive to pay an "x" % of your gross income/month. It's way higher than getting a franchise which only charges 3-5%. Although the start up cost is pretty reasonable, that's why I'm still considering it. But the high % from the gross income makes me stop and delay more.
