One of my patient's is seeking a deidicated inpateint stroke rehab facility in the southeastern US. He is a year out from his stroke and he is not satisfied with his current gains. He would like to try to attend a full time rehab facility to try to make more progress. I a fairly sure that his insurance will not pay for this but he is not concerned with the cost.

Does anybody have any locations that provide this sort of service in the southeast or for that matter anywhere in the US? He is looking for the "best."

Daniel

Daniel,
I have heard some positive things about Cardinal Hill Rehab Hospital in Lexington, KY. They do reference themselves as an "acute" rehab hospital and thus may have some stipulations on age of disease for admission standards. Whatever that means in todays standards is anyones guess.?! Worth looking into perhaps. Good luck. Here is their website: http://www.cardinalhill.org/

Daniel,

...another strong option is Spain Rehab Hospital in Birmingham, AL. They are part of the Alabama-Birmingham Hospital System (UAB)
