Since PT's are allowed to perform joint manipulations if properly educated, we started advertising agressively. In our brochure and website (http://physiomedinc.com) we state that we will "Adjust" "Manipulate" "Mobilize" and that we perform Manual therapy. We already received treatning letters from the American Chiropractic organizations, but nothing they can do about it. We also let everybody know that chiropracters are not allowed to perform/advertise for, Physical Therapy. We will write certified letters to the ones that do this, with a copy of the federal ruling and HCFA. (See "manipulations" on apta.org). Since we offer a lot more insurances than most DC's, people don't have to pay hardly anything, out of there own pocket, unless they come in without a doctor's referral. Word to mouth goes quick!! Since we are Manual Therapists, our manipulations are not as rough, which our patient are also more pleased about. Results so far are great!!
We even hired a Chiropractor, and now they are calling us for lunch to work out deals. Live is strange sometimes. PT is winning, stick together!!
Kind Regards, your colleague
