Hello, I would like to know your opinions on changing career to PT. I am 26 years old and I am a Technologist, but am interested in a career change. I am really burnt out on computers, and I'm put off by the fact that something I do will make people loose their job.
Rehab is of great interest to me. I have also been a bodybuilder for many years and like teaching people new exercises and fixes for inbalances.
I had considered self study for the CSCS but also want the DTP.
What do you think of this decision?

If you haven't taken any of the prerequisites yet, it will be a long road to be choosing. I would go volunteer or even just observe a PT at a local clinic or hospital and investigate it more to make sure it is what you really want. It will be a big time and financial committment. If it is really what will make you interested and happy in your job, then go for it. If you don't think you can or want to spend so much money/time on more schooling for the DPT, then you could pursue personal training or athletic training instead.
