Just curious... what is the average PT monthly salary?  Obviously it will vary based on experience, but what is the average & range?

Are you choosing a career based on $$ alone? Remember, it's healthcare and you won't be paid huge dollars.

To answer your question and if you are a member of APTA try......
http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Surveys_and_Stats1&Template=/TaggedPage/TaggedPageDisplay.cfm&TPLID=149&ContentID=18996

or

just as easy... www.salary.com

3-5 years experience : 60-70 K / year, divided by 12, pre tax: 5000-5833
5-10 years: 75-85 K, divided by 12, pre tax: 6250-7083
PT director: 85,000+ K, pre tax: 7083 +
successful business: sky is the limit
These numbers are what I have seen in my experience in NY, NJ, PA, IL, and CA. I'd like others' opinions to enlighten me. Thanks!

Here in San Francisco area 1-3 years experience PTs are asking $78K and are getting it. I have been looking for a staff PT for 2 months and have not been able to find one with even paying more than $82K.

The APTA has a wealth of resources and pratice statistics available to members.  Yet one more thing that most of the non members are probably unaware of.  They look at this and follow the trends closely.

Keep in mind the area in which you live.  I can buy a nice house here for $200K and very very low crime rate. (also like to camp, fish, golf, etc so am very happy to live in the "northwoods")

Wow...I need to tell my company how much of a bargain I am.  Or learn how to negotiate better.

Now with the mortgage meltdown, you can buy a nice house for $200k and the bay area is 1 hour to the ocean and 2.5 to 3 hours to the mountains for skiiing. So we in the bay area are spoilt. My 17 year old wanted to go to college in the east coast and after touring at Columbia and NYU she decides to be in the bay area just for weather reasons. If anyone serious in coming to the San Francisco bay area email me personally. Please do not talk to any head hunter agent as there are ample jobs for PTs. I have contacts with a large network of private practise owners who are always looking for better quality PTs--I do not make any money out of these contacts just a network of friends.

A nice house for 200K in San Fran?  Is this a doll house, or a dog house we are discussing?

Ian,
Sounds like British Columbia, you can easily find a house here worth $200,000, unfortunately it costs $1.2 million to buy.
