Jma, Are you looking for reference books? What kind of information is the hospital looking for? There are several great AT texts out there. The most commonly referenced book is usually Arnheim and Prentice's Principles of Athletic Training. Most texts written by William Prentice are pretty good. If you have any specific topics you would like a text to cover, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

I think the age of the book is nearly over. I rarely look in a book. I use journals and even better, the internet for the most current information. that said, I recently purchased "Users' Guide To The Musculoskeletal Examination" by Flynn, cleland, and Whitman. it is full of sensitivity and specificity data on all (or nearly all) of the test we use (and should no longer use) Magee's Orthopedic Physical Assessment is quite exhausttive. Prentice has more specific AT only stuff like skin assessments, helmet/shoulder pad fitting etc . . .

Hello, I just happened to pass through the library and did not see a lot of books pertaining to sports therapy. I asked the library about it and told me that if I could recommend some books to them, which is why I asked the question here. Thanks for the tips. Will look into it.

One that I used a lot in my sports PT days: "Sports Physiotherapy: Applied science and practice" - Zuluaga et al, Churchill Livingstone, ISBN 0 443 04804 5- a good aussie text, but also quite the hefty tome!

as an ATC at the collegiate level, i can tell you there are many books that would probably be beneficial but some of the best are listed below. Keep in mind that some of these are used primarily for the athletic setting and are typical textbooks used by college athletic training students. Principles of Athletic Training - Arnheim and Prentice (i know...already mentioned) Clinical Orthopaedic Rehabilitation - Brotzman Orthopedic and Athletic Injury Evaluation - Starkey Athletic Taping and Bracing - Perrin Athletic Training and Sports Medicine - Starkey those are just some of my favorites! hope this helps
