Sorry proud
Better for 1) Wages 2) COnt education 3) Manual therapy specialisation
Ultimately, becoming a better PT, getting your patients better, and make a good living...

I worked in the US for 3 years. The wages were without question better.
The support for cont education...better.
The strength of the APTA in terms of professional advocacy...better.
However, I generally found that Canadian trained manual therapists had better diagnostic skills. However this was 5 years ago and I sense that this gap has been closed if not reversed with the DPT programs etc.
I had a positive experience while in the US. However I am sure you will hear from others with the opposite experience.

So how come you came back?
If too personal, send this message to the bin :)
My aim is to cont DSc there as I find cont edn very very weak here (Canada).
Let's see where God wants us....

US is great but Canada is home. We wrestled with the idea of staying in the US but in the end we chose canada as where we wanted to raise our kids.
Money is not everything in life.
But for your career goals, why not the clinical Masters program in manual therapy at Waterloo? Although I would not disagree with the options in the US either.

Thanks proud for ur reply.
I was born In Canada (lived only 3 yrs), then studied in Europe, before returning here 1.5 yrs back (graduated in 2004). I am currently completing a Masters in Rehab Science, but unfortunately its too research based, but cannot say I did not learn....maybe I am 15% better than when I graduated :) Fortunately, im working part time, and that touching feeling keeps me going...
I couldn't find any info on the Manual therapy at Waterloo, do you have a link by any chance? Having said that, I still believe that I would prefer advancing to a DSc rather than doing another Masters!
Just wanna learn more, thats all....

That would be the University of Western Ontario not Waterloo. Waterloo doesn't have a physio program.

Still work in Michigan but live in Canada, wife has clinic in Canada, can't beat the US for wage, however more difficuty dealing with insurance and collections for owners. Canadian PT seem to be better skilled in diagostnics. My opinion.
