Hi I'm a new physio to this group. My specialist area of interest at the moment is rehabilitation following articular cartilage repair procedures and specifically autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) or autologous chondrocyte transplantation (ACT) as it is known in the USA.
I would be very interested to hear from any physios/PTs who are/have been working with patients who have undergone this procedure.
Did you have rehab guidelines to work towards? If so how good were they?
What do you feel are the main issues in rehabilitation for this procedure?
Do you think there is potential for accelerated rehabilitation protocols as developed with ACL surgery?
Looking forward to some interesting articular cartilage discussions.
